Sales Policy
** Please read carefully, by sending a deposit you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of this policy. **
First and foremost goats are herd animals and should always be kept with two or more in group settings. Because we love and care about each and every animal we sell, we will only sell a single goat if someone already has at least one other goat that is similar in age and sex, otherwise, goats must be purchased in pairs or groups.
Carpel Hyperextension
What is CH? Carpal Hyperextension (CH) in goats is when the "knee" (carpus) bends backward, causing lameness, pain, and potentially deformity. This often appears in young adults without obvious injury, with potential genetic links and possible mineral-related factors being investigated by researchers at Oregon State University.
We have experienced two cases of CH here on our own farm, and it was devastating. In both cases, goats came from another herd and were culled upon findings.
Baby Angel Acres, upon Photos and videos, will issue a full credit toward another goat of the same gender, in the amount of your purchase price, should your goat develop CH before the age of 2 years old. To be eligible for this offer, papers of the CH goat must be surrendered to us. Shipping, past or present, and any new fees will be at the owner's expense

Congenital Myotonia

What is CM? Congenital Myotonia is a recessive genetic trait that, if expressed, is a neuromuscular disorder that affects how muscles relax after contraction. It is often referred to as "fainting goat syndrome."
Symptoms can include:
-
Muscle stiffness, especially after sudden movement
-
Rigid legs when startled or excited
-
Falling over (they remain conscious—they do not faint)
-
Stiffness usually lasts 5–20 seconds
-
Symptoms are often more noticeable in young goats and may lessen slightly with age
The trait is only expressed or apparent when two parents are carriers and both pass the trait on to offspring.

If a goat is found to be CM/CM we will credit you the full price we sold the kid towards another kid purchase. This offer is contingent upon a copy of the test results and surrender of the animal's registration to us. Shipping, past or present, and any new fees will be at the owner's expense.
We will also guarantee that any registered goat you purchase directly from us will have only 2 teats and be free from freemartin or intersexed conditions. Baby Angel Acres, upon Photos and videos and for a freemartin a vet confirmation, will issue a full credit toward another goat of the same gender, in the amount of your purchase price. To be eligible for this offer, papers of the affected goat must be surrendered to us. Shipping, past or present, and any new fees will be at the owner's expense

Registration - Tattoo’s - Naming - Disbudding
All of our kids will be dis-budded before leaving our farm. Goats can sometimes develop scurs, particularly bucks and wethers. If you prefer that horns be left intact (i.e., horned), the kid must be purchased in full at the time of deposit, and please note that this payment is non-refundable. Goats will come with an application for registration with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) or with an online registration transfer, at the seller's discretion. All registered goats will be tattooed before leaving the farm. Please note that wethers and non-registered goats will not be tattooed; however, tattoos may be in place if a goat is sold without papers. If a goat is sold without papers, it will be marked as such on the ADGA website and cannot be registered again. We reserve the naming rights for all registered kids to reflect the Baby Angel Acres herd name and our preferred registered name. However, we try to work with the buyer to determine names, and you may use any "barn" name you like if our chosen name doesn’t suit your style!

Wait-List
It is free to be placed on our waiting list. However, individuals with reservations that include a deposit will be notified before those on the waiting list. We reserve the right to retain any kids born on our farm. To reserve your preferred kid, please email us or private message us on facebook with the exact breeding information or your general request (e.g., “2 wethers from any breeding”). Additionally, include your contact information, name, location, and herd name, if available, and email address. Once the kids are born, we will begin contacting people on our reservation list, then on our waiting list, in the order they were received. When we contact someone with pictures of available kids, they will have 24 hours to respond before we move on to the next person in line. We require confirmation from the buyer and a 50% non-refundable deposit within 48 hours to hold the chosen kid(s). We will not hold goats without a deposit. Preference for sales and reservations will be given to performance herds or youth actively participating in 4-H or FFA. This policy aims to enhance our herd's reputation and support youth in their goat projects with quality animals. For example, if one individual requests a doeling while not participating in any performance programs, and another individual requests a doeling one month later while enrolled in performance programs, the second individual will have priority in selecting their kid. We reserve the right to cancel any sale or reservation at any time, with no explanation required, although the deposit will be fully refunded. The health and well-being of our goats take precedence over sales.
Deposits will be fully refunded if a goat dies or becomes severely ill while in our care. In such a case, the buyer can choose to either select another goat for replacement, if one is available or receive a refund.
** Deposits will NOT be refunded if a buyer decides to back out of their commitment**
Reservations
To secure a reservation, a non-refundable deposit of $100 is required. Reservations are processed in the order they are received. However, as a performance herd, we prioritize sales and reservations for performance herds as we see fit. This policy is in place to enhance our herd's reputation and merit. If the specific kid you have chosen is not available, you may either select from another available kidding or receive a refund. Once we contact you regarding your reservation, you will have 24 hours to respond and place a 50% deposit. At this time, we will also make arrangements for pickup. If you plan to use transportation and it does not work out, please note that the deposit is non-refundable. It is essential to ensure that your transportation will be available. We reserve the right to cancel any sale or reservation at any time, with a full refund of the deposit, without needing to provide an explanation. Our primary concern is the health and well-being of our goats. If a goat dies or becomes severely ill during a late pick up, the buyer will have the option to choose another goat as a replacement.
Pricing
We price our animals based on quality, merit, and genetics. Please note that we do not engage in bargaining. Baby Angel Acres may retain any kids before offering them to paid reservations or the free waiting list. Evaluating young stock can take several weeks as we wait for them to mature and grow. If we are uncertain about which kid we will retain, we will inform you once we decide the kid will be available. Most bucklings will be sold as wethers for $250. We typically wether our bucklings at around 5 to 6 months of age to allow the urethra to widen, thereby helping to prevent urinary calculi. If you take home a buckling that is not yet banded, you may return with him at that age, and we will gladly band him for you at no cost. Please note that we will not be responsible for the care of the banding or any resulting issues, such as infections, slippage, damage, or pregnancy that may occur afterwards. You are welcome to band your buckling yourself at home, or you may bring him to a veterinarian for banding. It’s important to remember that very young bucklings can breed, so we encourage you to separate them from does and doelings for at least 6 weeks after banding or use a buck apron (though this is not a 100% guarantee of prevention). We recommend https://www.houseofbacchusgoatsupplies.com/. If at any point before banding, you decide you want to use the buckling as a registered buck, at our discretion, you may purchase that option to upgrade to a registered buck if we feel that the buck is worthy of being a sire to registered stock. The option will be completely at the breeder's choice. After 6 months, that option will not be available.

Pick Up and Transport
Buyers are responsible for pickup and transport arrangements, including any costs associated with that transport, including a CVI. Bottle kids will need to be picked up no later than 4 weeks of age.
Goats will be picked up at our farm unless otherwise agreed upon. Goats must be paid in FULL before leaving our farm. All dam-raised doelings must be picked up by 12 weeks of age. Dam-raised bucklings may be picked up at 8 weeks of age. After that time, a daily fee will accrue for care and maintenance. There will be a $5 (per day, per goat) "care and maintenance" fee up to 14 days. If the buyer does not pick up goat(s) within 14 days, we reserve the right to sell said goat(s) to someone else, and the buyer will lose the deposit.
★ NEW REQUIREMENT for 2026: Any kid being picked up by a transporter (buck or doe) MUST go as a pair. This is for the physical and mental health of your kid. They will arrive in much better condition if they are with a friend! We often have spare wethers we can offer to keep your costs down.
Adult animals must be picked up within 2 weeks of receiving the deposit, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon. If they are not picked up as agreed, you will surrender your deposit, and the animal will be re-posted for sale. If you are purchasing a doe over 1 year old, you may request that she be bred to a buck of your choice for free before leaving the farm. We cannot guarantee the breeding will "take" and therefore this is a one-time service. If the doe settles, a $200 service memo will be charged. Per ADGA rules, any kids who are the result of a doe purchased and bred by us must carry the “Baby Angel Acres” herd name and have ear tattoos of the farm where the kids were born (the buyer's tattoos).

Goats must be properly contained while being transported from our farm to yours. We prefer the kid goats to be inside the vehicle (not an open truck bed) and in an appropriately sized crate/kennel. If goats must be transported in an open truck bed, they must be in a dog crate, covered by a tarp, and secured well. We care about the well-being of every animal on our farm and want to make sure they are well taken care of. Please be mindful of the weather on the day of pick-up when transporting in an open truck bed.

We will work with transporters, but you are responsible for contacting your choice of transporter and setting up the pickup date we have agreed upon, and all costs associated with transport. If a health certificate is required, it will be at the expense of the buyer. Once the goat leaves the farm, it is no longer our responsibility, so choose your transporter carefully.
** Once goats leave our farm, we are NOT liable for anything that might happen to them. We cannot guarantee that a goat will attain show wins, milk production, temperament, LA scores ect. as we select our sires carefully to produce the nicest animals possible; genetics are a gamble. Animals do not always turn out the way we would want them to. All sales are final.
Stress from transportation and a new environment can and sometimes does make a goat fall ill or even die. Careful observation and quick intervention is necessary during the first few weeks and months after transport. We recommend that you have coccidia medication on hand before obtaining your kids. We do give a preventative dose for coccidia prior to the kids leaving, but they may require additional doses after leaving. We will sell small amounts to go with your animal at your request. While we'll gladly discuss caring for goats that have moved to new homes and answer any questions that we can, it is the buyer's responsibility as the new owner to ensure the well-being of their new goat(s).

Prior to purchasing, we strongly encourage new owners to build a relationship with a veterinarian and do lots of research on proper goat care to make sure that you are well prepared to care for goats. We will happily be here as an additional resource for all buyers by helping them out the best we can, as we want our buyers to enjoy their new additions and be successful in their journey! **
Thank you for considering us in your purchasing plans!
